Recent Acquisitions

If you didn't get in on the DG sale a month or two back, then it sucks to be you. While I was tempted to go hog wild, I limited myself to these three (to be fair, I do already own a book or two of Piper's). Future Grace is a must for discipleship in your church, I plan on reading The Justification of God when I hit Romans 9 preaching through the book (when I plant a church some day) and Dawn and I are planning on reading through What Jesus Demands from the World together.

You're planting a church someday, huh? Where are you thinking of doing it at? I am thinking of doing the same. Have you considered Acts 29? I have done a lot of looking at their stuff, and it looks really good.

Glad to see Piper is still one of your boys. Lerro and I read the Justification of God together this summer. Piper said it is the exegetical foundation of his ministry. He also said of Romans 9, "It is a tiger- devouring all of the 'free-willers.'" Anyway, that book had two-fold effect on me. First, it is a first-rate example of how to do exegesis. He can be a bit repetitive, and you can definitely see his commitment to arcing, but it is good exegesis. Second, the message of Romans 9 is devastating to human independence. Piper showed me the 'God-ness' of God in this book. It was refreshing to see the exegetical foundation of his theology.

BTW my wife is also profiting from reading what Jesus Demands from the World.

We are holding services in Dover. Would love a visit from you any time.

Blessings to you in Him

I have indeed considered Acts 29, and if I don't go completely indie, I probably will get in touch with them. As for location, that's easy: Boston

Glad to see you're still one of my boys too:-) congrats on the ordination, I hear the Lord was honored greatly by all present. Miss you but am praying for you guys and trusting the Lord is using you greatly.
Oh and by the way, if you enjoyed Romans 9 that much, apparently the modifier "reluctant" can be officially removed :-)

Even in the most sexually liberated and self-satisfied of nations, many people still yearn to burn more, to feel ready for bedding no matter what the clock says and to desire their partner of 23 years as much as they did when their love was brand new.
The market is saturated with books on how to revive a flagging libido or spice up monotonous sex, and sex therapists say “lack of desire” is one of the most common complaints they hear from patients, particularly women.
